Color Quest — Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Color Quest Studio ("Color Quest Studio", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Color Quest mobile application (the "App"). If you have any questions, contact us at support@colorqueststudio.com.

1) Scope

This policy applies to the Color Quest mobile App and related in‑App experiences. It does not cover third‑party websites or services that may be linked from the App.

2) Information We Collect

Account and identifiers

  • Firebase Authentication user ID (a pseudonymous identifier).
  • Push notification tokens (Apple APNs/FCM) if you enable notifications.

Device and technical data

  • Device information such as platform (iOS/Android), device model, OS version, and manufacturer.
  • App version and basic diagnostics. Our service providers may also receive IP address and general device identifiers as part of standard internet communications.

Usage data

  • In‑App events (e.g., session duration, quest interactions, A/B test variant participation, help & support actions) collected via Firebase Analytics.

Feedback and support

  • Information you provide when contacting support (message content). When you submit feedback or a bug report, we store the text you provide and, if you choose, an optional screenshot.
  • For support, we also attach technical context such as device info, App version, and your user ID to help investigate issues.

User content and permissions

  • Camera and Photo Library access are used only when you choose to import a photo to generate a coloring quest. Imported photos and the generated content are processed on your device. We do not upload your imported photos to our servers unless you explicitly share them with us (e.g., as part of a support request).

Local progress data

  • Quest progress and related preferences are stored locally on your device (using on‑device storage). For certain features like quest completion statistics, the App may update pseudonymous stats in our cloud database.

3) How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the App, including generating and saving quests and progress.
  • Measure App performance, run experiments (A/B tests), and understand feature usage.
  • Show ads, control ad frequency/placement, and measure ad performance.
  • Enable optional push notifications if you grant permission.
  • Prevent abuse and protect the service (e.g., Firebase App Check).
  • Assist you when you contact support and diagnose issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations or enforce our terms.

Legal bases (where applicable): performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., App security, analytics, improvements), consent (e.g., notifications where required), and compliance with legal obligations.

4) Sharing and Disclosure

  • Service providers (processors): We use trusted providers to operate the App, including:
  • Legal and safety: We may disclose information to comply with law, protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
  • Business transfers: If we engage in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

5) Advertising and Analytics

We use Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display ads and Firebase Analytics to understand App usage. These services may collect device identifiers, coarse location (inferred from IP), and interaction data to deliver, limit, and measure ads and to provide analytics.

  • Ad controls: You can reset or limit your device’s advertising identifier and adjust ad personalization in your device settings.
  • Regional settings: In some regions, additional consent or choices may be presented by the underlying SDKs or operating system.
  • Children: The App is not directed to children; we do not knowingly enable interest‑based advertising to children.

6) Your Choices

  • Notifications: Control push notifications in your device settings. Without permission, we will not obtain a push token.
  • Camera/Photos: You can deny or revoke camera and photo permissions in your device settings; the import feature will be limited accordingly.
  • Local progress: You can clear local progress from within the App (e.g., Reset Progress in debug or settings tools, if available) or by deleting the App from your device.
  • Advertising: Reset your device’s advertising identifier and limit ad personalization in system settings.

7) Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise your rights, contact us at support@colorqueststudio.com and include your User ID. You can find this value via Help & Support → My IDs, or by using Help & Support → Contact Us (the pre‑composed email includes this information).

Residents of the EU/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) may have additional rights; we will honor applicable requests in accordance with law.

8) Account Deletion

Color Quest does not require creating a personal account. The App uses a Firebase Authentication user ID to operate certain features (for example, storing pseudonymous statistics). If you want us to delete this data associated with your use of the App, you can request deletion at any time.

How to request deletion

  • Email us at support@colorqueststudio.com with the subject “Color Quest – Account Deletion”.
  • Include your User ID. The Help & Support → My IDs screen and the Contact Us flow can show or prefill this value.

What we delete

  • Your Firebase Authentication user record (user ID).
  • Pseudonymous cloud data stored in our Firebase project that is linked to this ID, including user statistics (for example, quest completions) and related per‑user records.
  • Support submissions you sent to us (including attachments/screenshots), unless we are required to retain specific records by law or for security, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.

What we cannot delete for you

  • On‑device data and local progress stored on your phone or tablet. You can remove this by deleting the App from your device.
  • Aggregated or de‑identified analytics that no longer reasonably identify you.
  • Information we are legally required to keep, for example to comply with applicable laws.

We typically respond to verified deletion requests within 30 days. Using the App again after deletion may create a new user ID and new pseudonymous records.

9) Data Retention

  • On‑device data: Quest progress and related settings are stored on your device. Removing the App generally removes this local data.
  • Cloud data: Pseudonymous user statistics (e.g., quest completions) and support submissions (including optional screenshots) are stored in our Firebase project and retained for as long as necessary to provide the App and support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can request deletion at any time.

10) Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect information, including transport encryption, Firebase Security Rules, and Firebase App Check to help deter abuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11) Children

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12) International Transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own (including the United States). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

13) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the App or by updating the date at the top of this page.
